Depends on how you want to do it.... the ideal way is to get aftermarket springs/shocks/coilovers and that setup can run you anywhere from $300.00ish on up.... I personally got an H&R Cup Kit for about $650.00 that included the springs/shocks/struts and worked great....

Well, you can find cheap kits on eBay, just look around first and research which one you want before buying.  As for installing them yourself, you can probably do everything with hand tools except you'll need a spring compressor to install the springs.  You might be able to rent this from a local store for about $15.  Otherwise, just go somewhere and get them installed.  My total install job cost about $190 at a local place.

I don't want to hijack the thread, but this isn't worth posting a new topic, and it is relevant.

How necessary are camber kits when lowering a vehicle with a kit of shocks and coilovers?

^^
depends on how low you go

I lowered my accord about 3 inches, and tire wear (negative camber?) was noticeable after 3 months.

Unless you want to go through tires every 6 - 8 months, i would recommend camberkits

Mines too low that it scrapes the exhaust on speedbumps and driveways....
