RE: shifters and knobs - 1/9/2007 1:13:32 PM    sir_nasty Posts: 6309 Joined: 2/23/2006 Status: offline The knob you choose is kind of a personal preferance thing, just be aware that the taller the knob you have the taller it makes your shifter and that affects the length of the throw.  I had a sparco Globe type and I loved it (in my civic) and for that I just did a cheap style of upgrade (I took of the knob and used a hacksaw to shorten the shifter) this does two things 1) It makes the shifts a bit stiffer (less of a fulcrum) which made it feel more solid to me 2) it lowers the height of your shift knob (so you have to reach a fraction further to grab it) A good short shifter will maintain stock height and be counter weighted to smooth things out (less resistance) I know Neuspeed makes them.  This way it looks stock but feels and reacts like a true short throw.  Here's an example I found (don't know about the quality of it, never used it) http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/bizshop/yymmp/honda/accord/short_shifter_kit/1994/1997.html?apwcid=P1135867996W43b3f85c7ab9e&apwkwd=94+95+96+97+Honda+Accord+Short+Shifter+Kit _____________________________ 1981 Civic Station Wagon - ROhnda (Really Old Honda) 1981 Honda CB650 Motorcylce - WHEE What More can I say? 2000 Lexus RX 300 - Oooh baby my wife let me drive it once!!
