H22A swap legality - 1/10/2007 10:13:19 PM    Shadow1992 Posts: 332 Joined: 1/10/2007 Status: offline I have a '92 Accord Ex and I want to swap out the F22A6 for an H22A1....how legal would it be and what parts as far as emissions regulations are concerned  must I keep? Post #: 1

RE: H22A swap legality - 1/13/2007 9:48:43 PM    poser_pilot6 Posts: 1036 Joined: 11/2/2006 Status: offline Actually, he is on the right track.  You can only swap in engines that are not in an older OBD bracket.  Hence, you could NOT legally put a 91 engine into a 92, because 92-95 are OBD 1, and 91-prior are OBD 0.  You can put OBD 1 or OBD 2 engines into an OBD 0 car, but not an OBD 0 or OBD 1 engine into an OBD 2 car. _____________________________ 1994 Accord LX four door Bomz SRI w/ K&N filter 194k miles (in reply to legionofone) Post #: 6

RE: H22A swap legality - 1/18/2007 4:35:07 PM    poser_pilot6 Posts: 1036 Joined: 11/2/2006 Status: offline If you dont have emissions, it wouldnt matter.  The area in Oregon where Im from, we didnt have emissions either, so you could pretty much swap anything.  But if you are in an area where you do have to get your car emissions tested, its going to be a different case.  Im sure the law varies from state to state.
