The pan is banged up and it's leaking?? That would lower the value to me, I doubt I would even make an offer unless the rest of the car was spectacular. Ask him what he'll give for it.

they said that the labor is expensive because they gotta move the exhaust pipes and stuff but i think that its 200-300 because i remember asking my mechanic and i decided to not change it because it was pretty expensive i didnt think my car was leaking thought, until i found out today when he checked out my car to buy it

So take less money and be done with it or get it repaired and hold your price. I'd take less money and get out from under it. EDIT: Don't forget your mechanic can repair it at his cost not retail.

Yeah, if you're that eager to get out of the car, I would just get two quotes for the work, average them, and subtract the average from the price you want. Sell him the car for the new price and be done with it.

where is the damage and the leak ?? does pan have a hole in it ?? if so you can get a pan from a junk yard 40-50 dollars a new gasket 25 dollars labor should not be more than 1.5 to 2 hrs ,,if they want to charge you more than 2 hrs it is hwy robbery .. those pans can be done in 1/2 hr at the most ....removing the frt exh pipe it takes 5 minutes .. 3 nuts on the frt, 3 on the rear and 2 bolts on the block ,, Now if the leak is from the oil pan plug,, that fix it is real cheap,, there is an How to in our DIY section ..
