on 16inch rims, tirerack.com recommends 205/60-16 size. but if i got 215/45-16, will these also fit, if i went from 205 to 215, would it be to big and leak air or something? therefore, if i subsitute a 215's for 205's would that be compatable for a 2006 honda accord? i got 16 inch rims. can someone tell me the difference too? i have been reading on tirerack.com but im still unsure. thanks

Whoa. Okay, yes, 215/45/16s will fit. However, they are a smaller overall diameter than stock, and that will mess up your speedo, and the tires will just look weird being that thin on 16s. The 205 and 215 are indicative of tire width, so the 215 is a little wider. The 60 and 45 are the sidewall height, and the 45 is quite a bit shorter than the 60. Does that answer your question?

If I did my math right, thats almost a 3" difference in height. That will definitely screw up your speedo and may possibly affect your computer. I know with some Jeeps and Fords that if you put a tire too large on there it will mess with the OBDII computer. I follow the general rule of keeping tires OEM size. This just keeps things nice and simple and makes them last longer generally.

well for 17 inch rims the fitment is 215/50-17. so, does this mean that 17 inch stock rims are wider than 16 inch stock rims? and with 45 side wall, isnt dat more of a low profile look? im just wondering because i can get really cheap 215/45/16, but if it affects the car's features too much, i wouldnt risk it, and rather go with a stock setup.
