I was just curious what my 97 LX 4 cyl w/ I/H/E and other mods could beat?  I really dont want a ticket, but am simply curious as to what average street cars or other cars that people modify that it can beat?  Or what you have actually beat?
And how much hp do you think I have w/ my mods?  Hopefully I am around the EX's hp range.

I got beat by a Saturn Ion one time, it was the new 04+ styles...when I came home I found out the 4 cyl have about 190hp stock...oops!

I would estimate that you are probably around 145, maybe 150 hp at the crank.  You should be able to beat quite a few cars, like mostly stock Civics (older ones for sure), Cavaliers, Neons (obviously not the SRT-4 lol), stuff like that.  I still wouldnt be taking on any V6s or Civic Sis, stuff like that.  But you should be able to hold your own.  Of course, I dont condone street racing (I got a $450 ticket for it in 2003), as its unsafe and foolish.  But yeah, next time you take it to "the track"...  lol

Mildy modded Civics, yeah, but more than I/H/E and they might have you.  They are a fair amount lighter.  A del Sol Si that is modded will probably be quite a challenge, they had either 127hp or the 160hp B16A2/3.  CRXs?  Oh yeah, unless they have had a lot of work done to them.  An Accord with VTEC will probably beat you though.  Of course, this doesnt take into account the driver's skill.

Thanks for the info!  That def. causes the mood to rise, and make those hard earned bucks well worth it!  Cavaliers? lmao  I wouldnt even bother...A Neon would be fun.  I'd rather not waste my gas on any GM garbage, but Mopar, most definitely.

Dont the 94-97 Accord EX's have vtec?  So if I had 150ish and they had the 145 w/ vtec I am still assuming they would win b/c of the increase of power more quickly.

And Poser, so what all happened w/ the racing ticket?  Just curious!

True, but I dont know how comfortable I would be, if I had to use a belt other than Hondas....considering if it breaks, you pretty much lose your motor.

the newer V6 accords are pretty quick in manual form and fairly quick in auto form.

a 97 LX comes stock with 130hp and IEH might give you 20hp tops.........

I do not of course condone road racing, but in my yoof the excitement was about whether or not you could beat the guy next to you. In fact if I thought I could then I did not bother.

Nowadays so long as the car feels good I don't care

you sound like my older brother who has a benz E-500. He says to me "Why do you put all that loud stuff in your car, it doesnt matter how fast your car is, any car you buy will go fast enough, stop wasting money on the sports stuff it be better if you make you car more luxury to drive"    My response  "You have 300hp and a insane amount of tourque and ive seen you hit 140mph with you benz without effort........Its easy for you to say"

Well ive been alot of cars in our class, camery v6, neons (normal ones)  - onced raced a SRT4 too embrassed to talk about it, ecplises, celica, mr2, civics- up to a certain point, ford's
i also keeped up with a WRX once, i didnt do so bad. He was also modded though.
