What does the clutch plate look like? Is it on the top?Bottom? or one of the sides of the compressor? I want to try and see it the gap is too big like TexasHonda said.

Start your own thread and explain your problem. If you don't know what the clutch looks like, you probably shouldn't try the "rap the clutch" test. Inexperience can get you hurt if you get the wrench or hammer gets to the wrong place. good luck

I have the exact same problem as the one described at the beginning of this thread. That's why I didn't think I was "stealing" this one. I am not totally inexperienced under the hood of cars, I just have never worked on A/C units before. I would never stick a wrench or screwdriver anywhere under the hood unless I felt confident I would not hurt myself.

If he started his own thread, maybe he'd get scolded for 'not searching'... When a threadjacker comes in & COMPLETELY changes the direction of the thread, that's annoying.

OK, I took my car to a different AC shop. First he checked if the car still have freon left (empty) then he checked for leak and found some kind of green oil at cooling unit drain hose then checked power at the compressor and it's fine (because I told him to check). Right away he took cooling unit apart and show me the evaporator where the leak at. I decided to replace evaporator and expansion valve. I tested for about an hour every day on the way home for almost a week now NO MORE WARM AIR only COOL AIR. Thanks for all your helps.

.I am glad tha car if finally fixed and you got cold air Now.. did you not say that the first shop said that there was no leaks, and told you it was a bad compressor ?? they just wanted to throw a part in , that would have been a waste of money ,, I am glad that you took our advice and had it DIAGNOSED at another shop ..
