I have a 97 accord and today i tried to take off my shift knob and the whole rod moved..i twisted the knob...its the factory knob on it..how do i get it off?

It should just twist off, are you sure that the whole rod moved?

Hi New Member and WELCOME to you...

Remove your consul, disconnect the shift cable from the shift lever then remove the shift mounting bolts and the remove the whole shift lever assembly.

Remember to put it all back together like you took it apart...
