Cobalt SS (with a pulley swap) vs SRT4 stage 2 upgrade.

SRT 4 by far

SRT 4 vs Cobalt SS stock, the SRT-4 will already win. And those stage upgrades are MEAN. I had a neighbor with an SRT 4 and he had a stage 2 or 3 downpipe and a few other things and that thing sounded NIIIICE. Then he sold it when his wife made him b/c of a drag racing ticket. Anyways, he was getting about 12 mpg in it!

The new 08 turbocharged cobalts would own the srt4... The new cobalt has 260hp and 260ft-lb of torque

True. But you have to compare apples to apples. Not an 08 new gen to an 04.

Though, the soon to be SRT-4 Caliber will easily keep up and probably be a smidge faster than the 08 Cobalts. 300hp 260 ft-lb torque. Esp. the AWD version. And its way more practical.
Chevy just cant win

ok i was wondering my car 01 accord v6, with sri and exhaust vs. 04 tsx with exhaust.... its my neighbors tsx and he is getting on my nerves about how badly he could smoke me off the line and all that good stuff.... i mean i hardly believe that he could but... what do you guys think......

From what I have been reading they are also going to have an AWD version.

But it will be released later.

Just checked into it @ Dodge.com. The only model so far w/ AWD is the R/T version.. The SRT4 version is only FWD as of now.

That all depends on the driver. If you learn how to launch well, you should definitely win. I think you would beat him off the line. Your V6 has 29 more ft lbs of torque than his i4.

I was looking at MSN at the "performance" on both the 04 TSX and the 01 Accord. A stock 4cyl accord coupe with a manual trans will smoke a stock automatic V6 according to their specs.
They show:
TSX 0-60 is 9.69 and the 1/4 mile is 17.34 @ 84.3 mph
Accord Coupe i4 Manual trans 0-60 is 8.13 and the 1/4 mile is 16.5 @ 87.6mph

I just checked it again and it says the stock i4 Accord coupe manual trans will beat the manual trans TSX as well!
TSX 6spd w/ ABS 0-60 8.75 and the 1/4 mile is 16.7 @ 87.37

Here are the specs on a 98 V6 Accord sedan:

Honda Accord sedan - V6 3.0L (200 hp) 4A + ABS
0-60-8.03
1/4mile 16.32
@88.20
Here are the specs on the 98 V6 coupe:

Honda Accord coupe - V6 3.0L (200 hp) 4A + ABS
0-60-7.28
1/4 mile15.76
@91.70

Race him and put money on it. You should win easily
