I've gone 110 in mine.  But didnt have any more room to keep going.  So since mine is a 97 LX it is limited?

Also, do you guys know if the 97 lx speedo is not accurate at certian speeds?  My friends always claim they drive the speed limit (even tested it, both set our crusise to 65 and he was pulling away (04 impala)) , yet I am always going slower.  Hmmph.

You'd have use another 97 accord to try and match speedos with. Different tire sizes, engine, rpms, gearing, it all plays a role.

@kord: quoted from the owners manual:

quote:

Drive (D4) -- Use this position for your normal driving. The transmission automatically selects a suitable gear for your speed and acceleration. ...
Drive (D3) -- ... Use D3 when towing a trailer in hilly terrain, or to provide engine braking when going down a steep hill. D3 can also help keep the transmission from cycling between third and fourth gears in stop-and-go traffic. ...

in other words, it never says you SHOULD use D3 for stop and go traffic. you CAN, but it will hurt your mileage. It doesnt say use D3 for everyday driving and D4 at high speeds. Simply in severe stop + go traffic when you would like to minimize wear, and you wont stay in 4th gear very long.

I still don't agree that my car was not limited to 111mph.  I had it floored for like 15 seconds on level road and the speedo wouldn't move.  Now it blows past 111 like nobody's business.

Sorry to revive an old thread...but is there a limiter on the 7th gen Accord...I've been to the land of 120 and it still increases....slowly but steadily. The 03-07 TSX limits output at 230 km/h, aka 140 mph. I'm guessin the same applied to my Accord?

I have no intentions of going 140 .....120 was already hella fast for me.

EDIT- Even thought a minimal amount of work is done to my vehicle, it's pretty amazing at the potential of the K-block. It runs easily to 100+ without breaking a sweat....It only slows down its rate of increase after 120. I can't wait to test run my Accord with my new headers.
