Hi,

I’m a new owner of a 93 accord wagon. There is a maintenance required box at the bottom of the tachometer. When I got it was green, now it is yellow. What does that mean?

Thanks

Is this light your check engine light your talking about?

If it is then you'll need to take it to ...say and AutoZone and have them read your codes...they will do that for FREE for you..Good price FReeee!!!

This may not apply to you but here goes:

My maintenance light was blinking (on my 00 accord) and I took it to Autozone. The OBD test passed, and there was no faults located, so I went to my local Honda dealership and told them of the issue. They told me it was a routine maintenace light that went on signaling normal maintenace. I told them that I had my brakes done, and they told me how ot reset it. here is what you do:
put the key in the ignition (but do not turn it)
Then push and hold the odometer reset button.
Turn the key to the On position while holding the odometer reset button(knob)
Hold for 10 seceonds and then turn the key off.
You may start your car now and the light should change/stop blinking.

Csparke is on the money. The maint. light is a reminder light to perform scheduled maintenance, unlike the check engine light which signifies a problem. If not reset it will turn red and stay on all the time.

on new cars...98 and up..to clear ur maintenance required light (meaning u have a service due, such as a 112,500 mile maintenance..which is a brake check, rotate, oil change and a checkover of the car plus a test drive) you turn your car fully off..push in your trip odometer as if u were to reset it..hold it in then turn the key to on but dont start the car...hold for about 20 seconds untill the maint. light shuts off, then u have reset ur maintenance req. light....all hondas have a maintence required warning...it only comes on when your honda needs its scheduled servicing!..simple as that..it doesnt mean anythings wrong with your car...is all it is is a warning light
