when i floor it...shifting into 3rd, 4th or 5th my intake sounds like its hitting the side of my car. Like when my engine rocks it hits and makes a loud noise, sometimes sounding like a gun shot. I thoguht it was the filter or something but its my intake getting loose and hitting. When i tighten it, over time it just getts loose. Are their any way to push something in between the intake and whatever it is hitting?

What is it hitting?? Is the tube hitting the sides of that hole where it goes down into the bumper?? If so just put some rubber trim around it

It is hitting like the side frame, yea. For some reason the screw down at the bottom near the filter always gets loose and moves a ton.

I also wanted to mention, that my CAI came with am ount kit that consisted of a rubber spacer.. if you compress that rubber enough (not too much, don't want it to split once it starts to dry and rot) it'll act as a temporary replacement for a lock-washer.. i say temporary because we all know rubber deteriorates.

if it's the sheet metal where the intake goes through that's getting hit then put some loctite on the bolt that keeps loosening, then get a lenghth of hose, carefully slice down the center of it on one side then simply slide the hose on over the sheet metal, glue it in place if you want some added safety...

My intake rubbed when i first got it had the same problem and did the same thing haha ..i thought i was the only one crazy enough to cut a hose and glue it around the hole haha guess not
