I'm pretty new at upgrading on cars. Honestly I'm by default more of a computer guy myslef. I've been reading quite a few post and it seems one of the first good additons is a Header, Intake and Exhaust. However I'm not too sure how to go about this. I work a lot and am not very savy so I will probaly have them put in professionally. My question is , any one have suggestions on where to get the parts/installation? Any issues with the mainstream muffler shops and such? And also do all three need to be purchased at same time? Sorry for all the questions Im new at this....hey ya have to start somewhere right?

Ask lots of questions.... I'm a computer guy by default as well but I've been around and worked on a decent amount of cars.....

Upgrades, yes those three are the most common to start with and they can be purchased one at a time, if you don't have the time to do the work yourself that's understandable just try to find a shop (honda/acura specific if possible) that can do the work for you, most mainstream muffler shops work just fine but be certain that they backup their work.

As for where to get parts there are lots of places, E-bay is naturally a forum favorite but depending on what car you have, also check out our vendors and sponsors....

Thanks a bunch for the help. I'll start looking more into it. The car is a 1993 Honda Accord. Its got pretty high miles on it, but it is in good condition. And I think it has potential. While a little time, cash and helpful guidance and patience. :) Thanks again for the help. I've been to a few other honda forums and didnt get much of a response other than critisim for what i dont know.

Two things we frown on very strongly and will edit/remove from our forum, no profanity, no "flame" wars, and no insulting remarks.  We just don't allow it, it does sneek through now and then but we try to delete it asap.  thanks for signing up with us and feel free to ask anything.  Also, follow the link below and you can download a manual for your car for free.

Since your car has high mileage you may want to look into plugs and wires also, depending on how often you have it serviced.  Also, sir nasty is right, this is the best forum to be on and you can search the pages and look into other posts to get ideas on what you want to do and which product you want to buy.  Good luck!

I'm a new user here and all I must say is wow. This really is probably the best forum for Honda's. I've been to a couple Acura/Honda forums and they'll piss at you if you can't do a simple upgrade like SRI or whatever. This forum really is for everybody.

Also, when was the timing belt and water pump changed last?  If your timing belt snaps, you'll most likely need a new engine.  So be sure to check into it and let us know.
