RE: why can stock shocks blow out and aftermarket ones ... - 10/30/2006 1:12:56 AM    YeuEmMaiMai Posts: 1822 Joined: 5/28/2006 Status: offline reason that the stock shocks will fail has to do with height of the springs. shocks are designed to operate in a certain range and when you low the car, you are moving the struts (in the case of an accord) out of this range and it cause the internal valves and seals to fail.
