2016 Accord coupe dot matrix tint issues

Hey all.

I bought a brand new 2016 Accord LX-S coupe a couple weeks ago. It came with dealer-installed tints. A few days after I bought it, I noticed some issues with the tint in the upper portion of the rear window. I've got three pictures HERE, HERE, and HERE.

I did some research and apparently it's a dot matrix issue that is pretty common with Accord tints. I spoke with the service adviser at the dealer, and his answer was that it's a pretty common problem that they can't do anything about, and I'm pretty much SOL.

Given that it's Honda dealer-installed and under warranty, I don't want to give up so easily, but I also don't want to be unreasonable. Is there any use in pushing the dealer to try to fix that portion of the tint, or is it something that will most likely happen again?

Also, I've heard of people covering up that part of the window with some sort of black vinyl. Would that be the only route to go? Also, given what the pictures look like, do you guys thing it would do the trick?

Thanks! :)

Welcome to the forum, Michael

'Dealer installed' is not a Honda problem, it is a dealer issue, therefore any cost of repair or replacement comes out of the dealer's pocket... they may try to delay any resolve.

There's an old saying, "If you push on something hard enough, it will fall over". How hard are you willing to push?

Should you not get a favorable result from the dealer, you can contact Honda Customer Service located in San Francisco
