debadging leaving damage?

alright so i'm new here so forgive me if this is posted in the wrong section or if this has been addressed before but i did a search first and couldn't find anything..
anyways, i removed the accord badge on my silver 2003 lx using the fishing line 'sawing' motion, the badge came off fine and there was the 3m tape and what not but now i have a slight problem.
where the badge use to be there is practically an outline of the word accord which seems like it rusted through the paint or something.

(if needed/wanted i could take a better picture in the daylight and post it tomorrow night.)

anyone ever seen this or know what i can do to fix it?

it may be adhesive residue left over or if u took off all of it it probably is the paint faded around it with the paint under it still new. If its residue then use GooGone to remove all of it then use a very fine rubbing compound to blend in the area. If that solves it then wait a while for the sun to fade then paint to somewhat the same as the rest of the car. Debadging an older car doesnt always get the same result as a brand new car.
