fade clear coat ?
 

Hi everyone, I have a honda 1998 honda accord v6 which I purchased recently. On the back left side door is a spot about a baseball ball size that the clear coat if fade. I like to know if is posible to restore just using a spray and hand. I don't have ano polishing machine or the money for it. All that fromt bumper is black, the previous owner changed and didn't painted. Can I just buy the car color paint and spray it on the bumper? Thank you for your response.

You can get that at your fav parts store..it works well. :)

I had some luck fixing up the clearcoat on my lower door panels using Duplicolor Wheel Coating clear. I wet sanded the panel with 1000 grip sandpaper then used about 3 light coats of clear. Didn't really look like factory finish. It is thicker. But brought shine to the panel and kept it from getting worse.

Better than getting worse for sure..but are you okay with what you got out of it?

I did this when I first got the car, there were some deep scratches just about down to the metal, along the rear door below the trim strip. I used that little jar of touch up paint to fill it in, then the next week sprayed with clear. It cost nothing except the 1000 grit paper from the parts store, because I had the other materials lying around. Hasn't rusted yet 3 years later.
