First mod parts

I got a 2000 Accord coupe with the 3.0L VTEC engine, and i was wondering in the people's opinion, what would be the best parts to buy that would increase engine performance under $500?

intake!!!!!!!!!

RE: First mod parts

Either intake or exahust is where i'd start.... and if you wanted you can get them both for under $500.00 get OBX Headers and a Bomz Intake off ebay

RE: First mod parts

but when and if you get a intake off ebay make sure they are carb exempt.. (only if you live in cali.)

Thanks. What about a ECU? AEM or Greddy engine management systems. And just wondering, any good body kits out there?

I wouldn't worry about a fuel management system until you really start to do something serious,, like turbo, supercharger, or extreme engine build.

You may be able to get exhaust, headers, and a cheap intake for a midge over 500 as long as you stick with obx and a cheap ebay intake.

ehh.. Short Ram Intakes or Cold Air?

sir_nasty 11-07-2006 05:28 PM

RE: First mod parts

short ram puts out 1 or 2 less horsepower but a Cold Air is great as long as you get a bypass valve, I would never run another CAI without it... I'm a SRI guy myself.... well I am now that I toasted one engine...

RE: First mod parts

LOL was it a 4 cyl? and where could i get one of those and how much. Sorry for all the questions, im cars like an underdog in local racing, since i beat a mustang, and im gunna go up against a V6 firebird later on, but im going up against an 85 Camaro with a 305 small block V8, which is of course the most powerful of the 3 (all are stock, except the mustang had better air flow tubes put on and is possibly gunna get its restrictor plates removed)

RE: First mod parts

SRI wise there is a lot out there, most guys just buy the $40.00 deal off ebay (bomz) and lots of people are happy with it... you can also get ram air intakes for Weapon R or Dragon I believe.... AEM makes about the best CAI on the market but if you get their new CAI V2 you can't use a bypass valve.... Also the cost on all those intakes except the first one is about $200.00-$350.00 so a massive price difference with minimal gain

Sweet, thanks. Save me a ton of money. Have you or anyone else on this forum raced domestics with a big reputation for being fast?
