I upgraded my OEM bulbs to HIR's last night. The pics don't really show the visability well, but they do show the improvement. I forgot to take a before high beam pic ... sorry.

RE: Halogen to HIR (pics)

i have to ask.............what in the world is HIR?

RE: Halogen to HIR (pics)

Something far less superior to HID.

Aaron, get your 'Yoda crap out of here! j/k I lub joo

Looks good, but I still don't get why you didn't just get a 6000k kit...

RE: Halogen to HIR (pics)

Already explained.

You can think your HID's are superior. It's good to have your own opinions.

...... oh, and my -Yota Crap- will smoke your Accord, so what does that make your car?

RE: Halogen to HIR (pics)

I'm just playing around... you are the engineer.

And once you have that turbo in of course you would rape me, but you'd have to drive out to Minnesota to do it!

RE: Halogen to HIR (pics)

You: 152 ft.lbs. / 2990 lbs = 0.0508 ft.lb. / lb.
Me: 163 ft.lbs. / 2905 lbs = 0.0561 ft.lb. / lb.

Plus I have much shorter gears and no wheel hop.

RE: Halogen to HIR (pics)

Still, you'd have to drive out to MN! Hurry it's going to start snowing soon!

RE: Halogen to HIR (pics)

i'll run you now..........even with tons of blue smoke lol.

155ish ft/lb and 2900lbs

as well as LSD and short gears

falkore24 09-25-2008 02:16 PM

RE: Halogen to HIR (pics)

LOL .... it'd be a decent race .... but do you think that you still have the 155 ft.lbs without compression?

BTW - Jealous of the LSD .... I need one of those. $1050 for the part, ouch!!!

live2rice 09-25-2008 02:19 PM

RE: Halogen to HIR (pics)

nah i ran compression tests its not the rings............but i bet i could take you

TCs with intake and exhaust and stuff run low 15s.........i'm in mid to high 14s

falkore24 09-25-2008 02:31 PM

RE: Halogen to HIR (pics)

You probably could .... pre-turbo. I never got the I/H/E stuff because I didn't know if I was going to stay NA or not .... glad I waited. One problem with the tC is that it can't put it's stock power down. The open diff is a big part of it. I can put down a little more power than when I got it because of the poly engine & tranny mounts, ETD and Proxy4's.

I still think it would be a good race. Start on a roll and I'm out still!!!

RE: Halogen to HIR (pics)

yeah and by the time you get a turbo i'll have a built motor, than we can race

falkore24 09-25-2008 02:46 PM

RE: Halogen to HIR (pics)

Well, I have everything but injectors and instrumentation. It'll probably go in in the spring ..... I want to do the suspension first. Also, I think my 5th gear synchro is messed up .... hopefully I can convince Yoda to swap out the tranny.

finch13 09-25-2008 02:48 PM

RE: Halogen to HIR (pics)

As long as you have the Force, Yoda will do anything you want. But seriously, is the symptom noticeable by a mechanic? If it is and they can tell, I'm sure they will fix it for you.

falkore24 09-25-2008 02:52 PM

RE: Halogen to HIR (pics)

Not always .... at first I wasn-t sure if it was the tranny or me learning to drive manual, but I had it checked out when I first got it ..... since then, I can make it have a problem most of the time either by doing a quick 4 to 5 shift or double-clutching 4 to 5.

The weird thing is, 5th doesn't have to be engaged ..... I can feel the gears mesh holding the clutch in and just pushing the stick into 5th when I can get it to do it. The biggest problem is that it's not consistant. I plan to take a test drive with them tomorrow after work.

A friend on CStC has the same issue on his 3rd gear ..... seems fairly common.

RE: Halogen to HIR (pics)

here .... www(dot)finemotoring(dot)com

That's where I got them ..... if you ask in the comments section of the order, they will paint where you have to remove plastic from the top tab ...... that's how I got them that way in the pic.
