Those are actually turning on a bit slow, mine ignite a lot faster. I guess that's why those kits are so cheap lol

Sweagle02 02-09-2009 08:26 AM

Mine are full brightness in less than 5 seconds. Either it's cold where he is, or his camera is over compensating for the extra light entering the lens.

xpieceofcralpx 02-09-2009 11:10 AM

yeah it was cold, that was maybe like 1 in the morning..

usually it doesn't take that long..maybe 2 seconds..and i refuse to believe my kit was cheap! the price was cheap though, haha

t00fatt 02-09-2009 11:19 AM

Mine light up in 2 - 3 seconds, but my ballast are not digital and I paid $350 for them two years ago. These kits may use a bit lower voltage or current for the ignition than mine. If that's the case your bulbs will last longer, the ignition is what kills them.

love it! ill be purchasing the same kit very soon. did you use the relay harness?

xpieceofcralpx 02-09-2009 10:08 PM

no i didnt...but hopefully i wont be regretting it..cuz i was reading about it..but since my car is not that old, the stock wires or watever can handle it..idk..

cjdm98 02-09-2009 10:30 PM

looks good how do you like the 6k ?

WHATTHELOUIS 02-10-2009 02:04 AM

startup is slow. my hids from lightwerkz.net start up much faster... in a matter of less than 3 seconds. off topic: those are way too blue for normal driving. they dont light up the ground or are safe for other drivers with all that glare.

xpieceofcralpx 02-12-2009 12:49 PM

i love the 6000k..its not to blue..the road is white like when i had my silverstar ultras..you only see the blue tint when you look at the headlights..the road is nice and clear..

My HIR's turn on instantly and don't need any time to warm up. Also, they project the correct light pattern from the stock housings, not to mention that they are DOT certified for legal use on public roads.

^ He also had HIDs at one point... now he's all Mr. DOT Approved hoighty-toighty

mr hoighty-toighty, falk? no...

falkore24 02-13-2009 02:00 PM

LOL ..... actually, the HIR's don't give as much light as the HID's, but they light more. The light band is wider and more even then HIR's ....... plus, the Viper has them :)

xpieceofcralpx 02-14-2009 01:03 AM

hmm never heard of hirs..high intensity recharge? haha
