Painted taillights accord 96 - (Not tint) - Possible!!

Hi guys,

I always dreamed about having a skyline look or something (Most of you probably do). I'm still a student so i cannot afford a real racing car ( Dude, it cost 2.5K per year just to insure a Civic 2007 EX in canada, imagine skyline). I can only work with what my parents gives me. So this is a hard-worked on Accord 96. I will buy a better car after school.
I putted less than 1.5k$ on this car and most of the work is DIY and handmade so i cannot be considered as a real ricer. I just do it because i like to work with my hands.

In this thread, i just want to show that it's possible to use Altezza headlights and turn them into GTR 33 look-a-like head lights. I have been searching everything on google but no one has shown it. I used objects to circle and cut out some covers to cover the circle parts (the smallest circle was the diameter of a tape) and the biggest one was the diameter of a dvd box. Then , based on those circles, i just cut out the tapes required to make those circles and then cover them ... then spray with Canadian tire's duplicolor's spray paint and ended with a primer. Though ,my car is 13years old, color and my sprayed color did not look too much the same but if your car has a new paint job or its quite new. You can try it. It IS possible. I did not cover my signal lights, reverse lights, red flares and signal. At night, the light goes through anyways =P. Enjoy.

Interesting...its diff. so I dont really want to give an opinion b/c it might change. At least its unique!

It seems as if the paint isn't as rich as on the car. If it were, it'd be even better! What paint did you use btw?

Not my cup of tea, but looks alright, i also see yellow brake drums?

Yea, i painted my brake drums and brake pad yellow with Duplicolor brake paint. They were 29,99$ at canadian tires. Really good paint. It can paint 3-4 cars without drums and 2 cars with drums as rear brakes. Though, my car has been ran 13 years so the drums were all rusted , i did not bother sanding it ... i just applied the paint over it. 3 layers. Looks fine.

I used canadian's tire Duplicolor paint. Canadian tire has the replica of all cars colors for 9,99$ a small spray bottle. I'm not good at painting sorry , i did not sand it either after painting it .... X) thanks guys.

Well if you take your time to paint properly, you will be more pleased with the outcome.

Don't really like it, or the yellow drums. But I give you props for doing it yourself.
