To splash guard or not to splash guard?

Any thought on splash guards/mud flaps? I just purchased my first Accord a week ago. Its a 2009 LX-P sedan. It was a lease turn in with low miles. I decided to install Honda splash guards to try to keep my paint clean and in better shape. I like the look and hope they function well. Any pros or cons or general thoughts on these things?

I have a honda accord wagon from 1992. Having splash guards have probably helped mine last this long. Though I have the honda cancer spots again. They're a great investment and I'll have them on my future cars, though I plan on keeping my accord wagon as long as possible because besides trouble spots the car is so reliable.

I purchased and installed the splash guards. They look great and I'm looking forward to the functionality of a good splash guard.

I have put them on every car I have had for the last15 or so years. I only use the OEM guards as I think they look best. They do protect the panels to some extent.

Yeah I got a 2004 Accord. I took my splash guards off like 2 months ago. big mistake. I mean i know they;re not the most pleasing to look at, but now my car has a few dings from rocks/pebbles. nothing major, but just enought to get on my nerves. =( but my opinion splash guards are a good idea.

They are on there for a good reason, and do a great job of keeping damage from rocks, debris to a minimum. I have always had them on my cars and believe they help more than they were designed to.

Splash guards have been on about 2 weeks and I have had some compliments on how good they look. As I stated before I purchased OEM splash guards, and I think the car actually looks better. They seem to be helping keep the car cleaner than without.

I will probably follow you. I have the same accord just like yours, I was thinking of putting splash guards also.
