It's possible that you may need to take the bumper cover off, but on my 95 and 99 that's not the case. There should be four 10mm nuts on each side of the trunk (they can be hiding behind plastic or carpet trim) that hold the lights in place. There can be wire holder things over the nut, on the stud, that you can just pry off with a screwdriver. Once all the nuts are out, just push or gently tap on the studs with a hammer and the light should pop out.
