I need to replace the tail light on my moms car, its an 07 accord , does anyone have any pointers on the process.
Someone told me that i have to take off the bumper to replace the tail light. is this true?

It's possible that you may need to take the bumper cover off, but on my 95 and 99 that's not the case. There should be four 10mm nuts on each side of the trunk (they can be hiding behind plastic or carpet trim) that hold the lights in place. There can be wire holder things over the nut, on the stud, that you can just pry off with a screwdriver. Once all the nuts are out, just push or gently tap on the studs with a hammer and the light should pop out.

This is for the sedan, but the process should be nearly the same if its a coupe.

 

I helped remove the tail lights on my friends 03, and we had the take the bumper off, and it was a coupe.
