01' Accord Steering Controls on After Market Deck
 

I have the Alpine CDA-117 installed in my Accord, and I purchased the Axxess ASWC-1 to connect the steering controls.

The instructions are pretty simple for this set up:

Ground the black wire

Put the Red wire to a 12V starter cord (I used the red wires from my deck)

Put the Blue/Gray wire into Pin 3. I wasn't really sure how to wire something into a harness. I wasn't even 100% that I was looking at it the right direction based off the diagram, but I rolled with it. I assumed I was looking from the inside, or the part the connects to the deck wire harness. It came with a long piece of metal, so I bridged the gap with that.

So, having done all these things, I started the car and watched the blinking lights do exactly what they should do. And it says that it has detected the car and deck and is good to go. Except its not working. So I run through the troubleshooting directions and verify that the unit is connected to the proper wire, and that it connected to an Alpine (based on the way the lights blink, Ill link the directions at the bottom).

Considering 7 red blinks at the end could mean alpine, or that it doesn't recognize one, I tried to manually do it. The instructions stopped working at some point, so now I am at a loss.

Has anyone else gotten this thing to work?

Essentially, at the Accord audio unit's 20P blue harness connector, you should be connecting ASWC-1's Blue/Gray wire to the car's Grn/Red wire (radio remote switch input - EX-V6 Accord with steering wheel control). The Grn/Red wire for a 2001 Accord EX-V6 radio remote switch input.

It looks like they are numbering from the wire side of the audio unit connector, instead of the terminal pin side.

Regardless, connect it to the Grn/Red wire.

If you are looking at the blue harness from the side the wires from the car go into it, your diagram is correct, but from the other way around, the instructions are correct. Which is luckily how I read them, so it turned out I was using the right cable. What really helped was knowing that I was looking for a Red and Green cable, which is what I had been using. I still, however, couldnt think of how they wanted me to wire the wire into the blue harness. So since I knew it was the right wire, I just cut it in a way where I could re attach it and hooked it to the wire like that. Then it worked fine.
