04 accord radio problem
so here is the deal i installed polk momo components in the front and infinity kappas in the rear along with 2 12"s all powered by 2 infinity amps and hooked up with a 1.5 farad cap. all if this is running off of a pioneer 980BT headunit... the wiring harness allows me to also plug into the factory HU so that it still has a display.. so i hooked it all up and it worked great and everything lit up and looked and sounded great... then i got into the car the next day and the factory HU has no display or running lights when you put the lights on.. however the LEDs light up on like "Dual" and all that when you tyurn it on.... Both the radio and acc fuse are good.. and the new stuff still works and sounds great but i have no interior lights on the center console but both cig lighters work.... any ideas why the display and the interior lights on the center console wouls stop working literally over night?!?! someone please help me i dont want to have to take it to honda and have to pair their sorry asses to replace it.. because theysaid electrical isnt covered under warrenty... thanks!!!

RE: 04 accord radio problem
Do you mean the lights for at night? Or the LCD doesn't light up even during the day? Did the lights ever work? On crutchfield.com, it says wire splicing is required, so you may actually have to splice into the dimmer controls. Try to describe what your problem is more specifically, and fully read the instructions that came with the install kit.

RE: 04 accord radio problem
If your fuses are good check your connections. Did you use crimp on connectors or solder the wires together? You should pull everything out, and double and triple check everything. The only thing that makes sense for this situation to me, would be a bad connection that lost contact while driving or just siting there. Tug on all the connections there should be no movement at all.
EDIT: Also if don't have a fuse checker you should get one, they're about a buck. You should also check all the fuses, one blown random fuse can cause weird problems. |
RE: 04 accord radio problem
thanks i appreciate it. I have a fuse checker and used it they are all working well. will check the wiring again... and let you know what i find. Thanks for your help

RE: 04 accord radio problem
It may have nothing to do with your modifications........There's a TSB on the radio unit. There is no known way to fix it (according to Honda), it must be replaced, usually under warranty. They would possibly deny the claim due to the mods though.....?
TSB #04027 |
RE: 04 accord radio problem

RE: 04 accord radio problem
TSB = Technical Sevice Bulletin issued by Honda.
