06 Gauge Cluster Lights
I want to swap out the stock white LEDs in the gauge cluster with blue ones. My question is what type of LEDs are they? SMD or Bulb? I don't want to have to pull it out once, and have to pull it again to install the LEDs.

RE: 06 Gauge Cluster Lights
Interesting idea, though I would probably go with a red hue.

My headunit is all blue, and I'm going to change all the LEDs on the HVAC controls to blue. May also be installing a PC fan controller to monitor the temp of my amps and one sub and speaker, in the install kit the goes in the cubby.

Just so you know, this is what I mean between bulb and SMD type LEDs.
These are Bulb Type LEDs http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...edene_LEDs.jpg ------------------------------------------ These are SMD Type LEDs http://www.elecsound-components.com/...e-Chip-LED.jpg I know they are probably SMDs but I am trying to find out what type if anything, if someone here knows that would be great because I can't seem to come across this bit of information. |
RE: 06 Gauge Cluster Lights
theyre neither bulbs nor smds. those are wedge bulbs. regular size wedge bulbs. LEDs. i just did my entire gauge cluster and its the same on yours. mine is a blue speedo, lime green tach and gas/ temp gauges on either side. looks great. hope this helps!

RE: 06 Gauge Cluster Lights
No dude, they are defiantly not regular tungsten bulbs. The light temp is too soft and white, they are defiantly LEDs. Your car is a 98, mine is a 06, they are not the same.

ummm mine are all LEDs and i got them all from superbrightleds.com. theyll most likely be the same for your whip, despite the year differnce.
