2002 LX trunk release ?
 

I've got an 02 Accord LX sedan.. no factory keyless(that i know of. i'm second owner and they had an aftermarket system in there before i got it).. and i installed my own..

Anyway, the question is... Does this car have a factory remote trunk release solenoid/module?

according to wiring diagrams i dug up there's supposedly a white/red wire in the drivers kick panel that's for a trunk release.. (positive trigger) closest thing i found appeared more light green than white.. but not as green as the other light green wires under the dash..


So.. does it have one somewhere and i'm missing it.. or would i have to install something ? where should i look to be sure? and how would i go about adding remote trunk release if there is no factory installed unit.. ?

would i be able to get parts off of like.. say an EX out of a junkyard ?

I dont think the 98-02 accord,whether it be ex.lx.dx,came with remote trunk release..Although there are aftermarket kits that allow you to do such.

Yeah i know there are aftermarket kits.. and the local honda dealer told me the same thing.. but a buddy of mine claims his 02 EX-L coupe has it.. and it's a factory keyfob.. i haven't been over there yet to investigate it..

I just wondered if anyone else knew of this.. or maybe he just thinks he has it and hasn't actually tried the button yet haha

too bad i don't have a factory part number to use at the dealer.. i can get parts at just above wholesale at my local dealer..

it's good to be friends with body shop owners :)


Thanks though... so they DO make one! if i can't get it cheaper through the local dealer then i'll place an order with them :)
