2003 Accord ex sedan radio problems

My wife had to suddenly slam on the brakes in her 03 accord and the radio sound goes out.I turn on/off the radio and hear a short static sound but no music comes out.I buy a new radio and get the same thing.Anyone have this problem?Any recommendations? Thanks, Rob

check the connection on the back of the radio make sure it is not damaged. also check the antenna.

That is strange. You bought a new radio? Is this a factory radio or aftermarket?

check the speaker wiring in the trunk. most likely, one of the speaker wires has shorted out, and since the doors are protected, something in the trunk may have caught on the rear speaker wire. start there.

Radio problem

Yes, the radio was factory.None of the speakers work.Took to dealership and they can't explain it either.

if just one speaker wire is damaged or shorted out, the radio won't work and you'll have this exact problem.

Radio problem solved

Thanks to keep hope alive I went to trunk and looked at both speaker connections and apparently something had hit one connection and it got pushed to where the wire made contact with cone. I disconnected speaker and all others started to play. Bent wire out from cone and it started to play. Wow never would have guess that could cause such a problem. Thanks for everyone's help. Rob
