Default 2004 Accord Ex-L V6 with Navigation - A/C and Nav problem

Hello All,

I have 2004 Honda accord Ex-L V6 with Navigation. I have been having issues with Nav unit almost 3 years. The unit does not work fine. The display was not working fine for few months. Later the audio stopped working. Now I have an issue with A/C. I don't care about display and audio as I dont drive much. But, need A/C for my kids when I go out. I don't know much about cars and how it works. I took the car to several stores (pepboys, firestone, Meineke) for different issues with Nav unit. They suggested me to replace the nav unit but i did not bother as A/C has been working. But, now for me, A/C is imp as i live in TX and its very hot here. I need some help/suggestions with it. I was told that the climate control module is damaged and needs to be replaced first, later i was told that the A/C Freon issue and did A/C service(spent $200), today i was told that the A/C expansion valve replacement and evaporator core are bad and needs to be replaced ( estimate is $700). The car mileage is 148K. Can I remove the Nav unit completely from my car and get the only A/C installed? I really don't need the Nav unit. All I need is A/C for now. I can spend some more money on audio, bluetooth and etc if i can have those. Do I need to have the Nav unit in the car if I have to use A/C? Or there is no dependency between A/C and Nav unit? My current A/C problem is completely different from Nav unit issue? If I find a used Nav unit and replace it then all my problems with A/C, audio will go away? As I mentioned above, I have very knowledge about cars and how it works. Really appreciate the suggestions... Thanks in advance...!!

If indicator lights on HVAC control panel work, then perform diagnostic per attached pages.

The audio-HVAC panel is integrated and could be a fault is disabling both.

good luck
