2004 accord lx stock rear speakers
hello everyone
my rear speakers on my 04 accord coupe lx are not working, the rest are fine. i checked both fuses, both ok. cked voltage out of connector to both speakers and i got about 0.002 vac to 0.003 vac. does that mean my radio amps are gone? and requires the radio to be replace? is this easy? thanks for any input jet. |
hello
i was wondering if anyone knows if the voltage output is too low to operate the speakers? and if they know what is normal vac output from radio. thanks |

I suggest that you PM our Stereo Manager keep hope alive,
He will more than likely have your answer.. WheelBrokerAng :) |

WheelbrokerAng stated it above: Keep hope alive (that's his user name). :)

first, make sure your fader isn't set to Front. make sure it is centered.
you should measure more than 0.10 VAC at low volume and more than 2.0 VAC at medium volumes (it won't hold there but will respond to musical peaks). start by unplugging the stock rear speakers, then re-measure at the harness. if the voltage increases - the speakers may be shorted, pulling down the voltage. the radio would be getting really hot if that was the case. once disconnected you can also use the DMM to measure DC resistance of the speaker voice coil. you should be around 3.4 ohms, no less than 1.8. |
2004 honda accord rear speakers.
well the resistances on the speakers was 0.0 ohms, and the dc voltage at the speaker leads varied from 0.3 vac to 1.0 vac with volume set at max. sounds like i need rear speakers.
