2004 Accord Radio Problems

The radio on my 2004 Accord went out (CD works fine) and now on the diag display I get: DSP OK, EEP OK, TmR NG. So my question is, what does this mean? When I turn it on, the display is stuck on 87.7 and will not allow me to program the stations at all.

Another question, I bought a replacement radio that also came out of a 2004 Accord (I'm assuming it came from an EX model). Only problem is, I didn't realize this new one (new to me that is) has a 6 CD changer and dual AC controls. Mine is in an Accord LX model and only has a single CD and a single controller for AC. Can I still install and use the new working radio somehow? Will the wiring harness in my LX still work with it?

Any help would be appreciated

Thanks!

"Tuner Bus Faulty". Unfortunately no further information or suggestions are offered on this fault. Everything is modular, so I'm guess a new radio package is req'd. You might check w/ Honda.

You can get your own shop manual from automanualsource on ebay. This will provide details on removal/installation of the audio system and allow you to diy. This will tell whether your used upgrade radio will install.

Check car-part.com for a used exact replacement unit to replace your faulty unit. They are available for as low as $75.

good luck

it depends if Honda build the Accord to be dual zone capable for all vehicles or if the only difference was in the control.

i suspect that the two are not directly compatible and you may not have a fully functioning system. you'd think the harnesses would be fairly consistent so no damage would be done by trying. at first, look at the wire harness plugs on both and note any differences.
