2006 Honda accord Navigation Swap
 

Ok guys i need a little help 1st let me get one thing clear i dont car if the navigation part works!!! i want to install a navigation head unit in my non navigation 2006 honda accord se 4dr, what i want to do is install the head unit and put a video converter in there as well so i can display a mp3 player, dvd, etc!!! i know you can do this can be done in navigations cars i seen it, if i buy a head unit out of a 03.04.05.06.07 accord can i just plug it in and it works, and will the climate controls work and the stero and all that happy stuff!! if anybody knows if this can be done, and yeah i dont care if the actual navigation parts works just everything else thanks guys, Adam i hope you guys understand what im saying

Adam - What you're asking for has not been done commerically from what I've seen on the '03-'07 series Accords. In theory, if you were a computer engineer with inside knowledge of the electrical system of your car and the software/hardware for the Alpine OEM headunit used to power the navi system, you could easily add whatever you desire. I am a computer engineer, but without source code and knowledge of Alpine's hardware, this task would be difficult ~ I have looked into it and so far without success. Perhaps someone has the uncompiled source code for the Alpine software to run this... then maybe we could reverse engineer the rest to add interesting goodies such as MP3/DVD-Video support.

I own a '03 EX-V6 Coupe btw.
