2007 accord lx radio issues
 

i have a 2007 accord LX with a stock radio. one disk , one climate control
im having a couple of issues and i need to troubleshoot.

1- the radio randomly shuts off , it mostly happens when i first turn on the car.
if i turn the car off and back on the the same issue starts again.
it could take 1 min to 15 min before it turns on again, sometimes it will shut
right off and turn on again

2- some times the radio shuts off and ejects the cd .

3- while the radio issues are happening the radio screen goes blank but the
display is still backlit.

4- my climate buttons rarely light up at night [ the past two days the have lit
up and randomly shutting off ].

5- the small green led on top of the climate buttons sometimes flicker from
bright to dim for a few seconds randomly

adding an aftermarket radio is not an option for me, i want to keep it factory.
i dont know if its just the cd block or if its also something else.
in a moderate when it comes to electronics.
ive read some posts on replacing the pcv on the radio but i dont know where to buy them ? ebay has a a replacement cd block for about $200.
has anyone else had this issue? is it a combination of issues? can someone provide me a fix ? :confused:

ALSO.... im noticing that most of the cd radio blocks are for 6-disk , i looked at the radio faceplate and it looked identical to mines.
Can i swap a 6-disk block into my radio 1-disk block???

the stock radios are garbage. sorry, Honda didn't make them. blame Pioneer.

then buy an aftermarket head unit with modern features. Kenwood KDC-X396 is a nice budget friendly, feature packed head unit.



the stock replacement option requires you look in junk yards or on ebay for a used unit that may have the same problem(s) or will develop the same problems.

yes, you can swap a 6-disc directly, the harness and mounting is identical. the only thing to watch for will be dual zone vs. single zone controls.

i decided to go and just replace the stock radio by adding a single din to the storage tray under the radio.with a Alpine CDE-143BT CD Receiver using this kit Honda Accord EX/Accord Hybrid In-Dash Receiver Kit Fits 2003-07 models — single-DIN at Crutchfield.com
it came for free with my radio.
when i disconnect the radio and connect the harness to my aftermarket radio should it fix my no light for climate button issue????
or should i also be looking to replace something else??/

is it possible with some modifications to keep the fold down piece

the bulbs behind climate control lights can go out.
