2011 Tweeter Replacement

I am going to be changing out my factory speakers soon. I have an Alpine component set that I want to use for the front doors. My question is what is going to be the best way to mount the tweeters? I have the factory tweeters in the door, but noticed my Alpine's won't fit in the housing correctly. They are both 1", but the mounting options are a little different. Does anyone have pictures of how they mounted theirs? Thanks!

That looks good. I looked over your build thread and it looks great! My problem is that I already have stock tweeters in the door pillar and the after market ones don't fit correctly in the factory spot. I'm not sure how to go about mounting them...

I dont know what the 2011 look like on the inside. if it is anything similar to a chevy truck, what I did on one of my installs was remove the stock mounting piece. put a peice or 1/4 mdf on the back side and mounted the tweeter in that. then I put the factory speaker grill back in place. post a pic of your stock tweeter location if you can.

Notice how the sail panel tweeters come apart easily. you can see the Oz Audio tweeters for comparison.

removed the tweeter mounting cup and put a ring of gasketing foam around the tweeter to seal up with the factory mount.

to hold them in place - silicone. not silicone on the tweeters, but silicone on the foam. the tweeter's will look like new if we want to remove them. a simple insulated terminal strip is a temporary connector until i order Molex plugs.

That looks good. I taped the tweeters in the spaces. I then applied superglue around the seam where the speaker and the panel came into contact. We will see how it holds up. If it doesn't I will do the silicone around it to keep it in place.
