2013 Accord EX-L Speaker Replacement
I'm considering replacing the OEM speakers in the kicks and the back shelf with Kicker 6.5-inch mid/30mm tweeter QS-series component systems (model 09QS652). These include the mid, the tweeter, and a crossover for each location. I'm keeping the OEM tweeters installed and setting up the Kickers as coaxial speakers.
I'm not changing the head unit or the amp; just the speakers. I'll replace the so-called sub with another speaker later, and most likely will not install a separate amp for the sub just to avoid the issues with the ANC system. Question: Will the OEM head unit and amp have sufficient power to adequately drive the QS-series Kicker speakers? I listen to a variety of music at mid-volume. Thanks! |
Adequately? no.
Minimally? yes. factory amplification is minimal. it'll get as loud as you may want, but distortion will be high. aftermarket speakers have much lower sensitivity. but it depends on your expectations of quality. might as well try and if needed, add an external amp later. |
anyone have a how to, to remove the subwoofer?
