89 Rear Speakers

Ok so i just bought a new Kenwood stereo deck (KDC-352u) and have been working on installing it in my 1989 accord lx 4dr along with some Alpine speakers for the rear part of the car. Ive removed the stock mounts for the speakers and was just going to hot swap them into the stock mounts and then realized they weren't such an exact swap so i tested them with just the speaker and just as i figured didnt match either so im at a loss for how i might go about installing them. Any recomendations?

What size are the speakers? Im guessing your meaning that the new speakers dont fit. What most people do is make a baffle (mount) that your new speaker will fit it. Super easy to make. You can also buy a plastic adapter baffle online. I dont want to advertise websites though.. *cough* crutchfield.com *cough*

yep, i make mounts but you can buy plastic mounts from websites like Crutchfield.

it is ok for regular members to link people asking questions, just not ok for new members to plug a website with direct links.

Yeah that what the problem seems to be is that i can set the speaker into the mount hole but it barely is loose like just a edge of metal keeping me from bolting it down. So i was wondering if there was an adapter or baffle to use for the 89's to fit a 6 1/2 speaker. Ive got the stock ones still and thier in good condition just not sure if i should attempt to socket them into the stock mounts or not.

just cut new ones out of wood with a jig saw.
