1991 Honda Accord speaker amplifier

I want to install new speakers in my 91 Honda accord but first I need to find the amp so I can see what kind of speakers it can handle. So can anyone tell me where the amp is on the 91 Honda accord LX? Thanks for your help!

Are we talking about the same thing?

:confused:Your question is confusing. There is no amplifier in a 91 Accord (like mine) other than that built into the existing player, unless you or somebody else installed it as an aftermarket part in addition to the player.
How do you know you have a separate amplifier?

Oh I didn't know this I just assumed that it would have a separate amplifier. Do u know if cross overs r standard on the amp because I I hocked up a new speaker in the back and all I heard was low frequency sounds. And also do you have any idea the stats of the built in amp like how many watts it is?

If your player is a factory unit, I don't think there is a separate amplifier--I could be wrong, however. What is your player? If you let us know that, then maybe we could figure out your issues.

is this a U.S. or European model?
with or without Bose?

standard U.S. models had no separate amplifier and all signals were full range. only crossovers were capacitors mounted directly to tweeters in dash corners (if offered).

in order to hear high frequencies, you would need to connect a coaxial speaker.

provide more info please.
