94 radio and digital clock wiring problem
well i just purchased my 94 accord ex vtec and it came with an aftermarket radio.it was hooked up incorrectly because when i removed the key from the ignition, it would still stay on and drain the battery.so, i decided to redo all the wiring correctly and hook it up with correct connections.as i did this.i believe some wires touched and caused a spark(hot wire and maybe some other wire).i have already checked under the hood to see if the fuse blew out and nothing.but now the worst thing is that my radio wont turn on at all?>,< and i also noticed that my digital clock is way dimmer than the usual.what can i do to fix this please help.

did you test the radio memory and ignition fuses with a DMM to verify they are good? you need to meter a fuse to know for sure - that is why they have small tabs you can touch with a DMM while the fuse is in-place.
simply set the DMM to measure VDC, ground the black lead, and touch the red lead to the fuse tabs (both). if you have voltage on one but not the other, you have a bad fuse. next, use the DMM behind the radio to test the ignition and constant wires. also, ensure the head unit is firmly grounded to car metal. |

Why not try fixing it 1st and then see if the Dimming stops with the problem... :)

you can use a DMM to measure each wire to determine what they do. Just measure voltage on the wires with the car off and on (taking care not to let wires touch metal).
This is what I found for your car, which is different than your list. http://www.modifiedlife.com/car-ster...-honda-accord/ 1994 Honda Accord Car Stereo Radio Wiring Diagram Radio Constant 12V+ Wire: Blue/White Radio Switched 12V+ Wire: Yellow/Red Radio Ground Wire: Black Radio Illumination Wire: Red/Black Radio Dimmer Wire: N/A Radio Power Antenna Trigger Wire: N/A Radio Amplifier Turn On Trigger Wire: N/A Front Speakers Size: 6 1/2″ Front Speakers Location: Doors Left Front Speaker Wire (+): Blue/Green Left Front Speaker Wire (-): Gray/Black Right Front Speaker Wire (+): Red/Green Right Front Speaker Wire (-): Brown/Black Rear Speakers Size: 6″ x 9″ Rear Speakers Location: Rear Deck Left Rear Speaker Wire (+): Blue/Yellow Left Rear Speaker Wire (-): Gray/White Right Rear Speaker Wire (+): Red/Yellow Right Rear Speaker Wire (-): Brown/White |
