Access for ipod install
 

Hello,

I own an '04 Accord Ex which I am trying to install a USA Spec iPod adapter in. I've removed the panel around the gear stick (manual) and the ashtray/coin holder.

However I've run into a problem with the dashboard center panel. I've remove the 2 screws at the base I cannot free the top of the panel. Any instructions I've read on the web suggest that I should just be able to pull it down and out, but it won't move.

The dashboard center panel appears to be different that any I've see in images/videos on the web as it as a small door in the middle and not a full size door. The car is a European model (right hand drive).

I've attached some images showing how far I got.

Any help would be appreciated,

My guess would to be very carefully and gently see if that false wood panel comes off, there may be screws under it instead of clips. Chances are it doesn't so be very careful. After that try grabbing it from the top and pulling, those clips can take a bit of force to pull out.

Thanks t00fatt, I went back to the dealer and asked them for some help. There were 2 clips at the top which needed a lot of force to get them to move.
