2000 Accord 2.3L Coupe EX AT

I just got 2 35W RMS front speakers and 2 110W RMS rear deck speakers

For this setup, do i need a 4 channel amp or 2 if i buy one?
Or, should i just plug them into the stock one?

Also, based on what ive read, the amp RMS output should be around the same wattage, so would a 300W RMS amp be sufficient?

Also, read a lot about ohms, but still not quite sure on what they are or how they affect my speakers. My speakers are 4 ohms.

The lower the ohms the less power it take to push the speaker. That why you see ppl running mono blocks (1ohm) on subs.


But the lower the ohms I believe the worse sound quality (I could be wrong tho...that's what I was always taught)

If you use a 2 channel amp you will either not have fade or balance. If you use a 4 channel amp you will have fade and balance. So you can fine tune your speakers to you listing needs.

I agree a 4 channel amp will give you more power and let you retain your fader.

The stock amp is a few watts. But you need an amp with high level inputs or buy a line output convert to keep the factory HU.

The first step should be a new head unit. You get modern features and more power. Then decide if you want more volume and buy a 4 channel amp.

there are so many options. best if you start by visiting Crutchfield to determine what fits your budget. our cars can fit any single DIN or double DIN head unit. you want to determine what features you want - USB, AUX input, Bluetooth, SAT radio, iPod connection, HD Radio, etc.

that will narrow your search to a few units. for brands, i like Pioneer, Kenwood, and Alpine. I avoid Sony or Dual. JVC and Clarion are ok.
