I'm confused of the wiring scheme...it's really simple all for how to loop it to the 12v postive battery terminal. And yes, I know this is going to be less quality than getting a seperate amp and then seperate woofers...but I'm lazy. And besides...it'll definately sound good with the new 6x9s.

From what I understand

The + cable of a speaker will go to the 4th terminal on the sub
The - cable of a speaker will go to the 3rd terminal on the sub
The 2nd terminal will be connected to a ground
The 1st terminal needs to be connected to a constant 12v power source. Just run a wire from the sub, through the firewall, to the battery. Make sure there is a fuse between the sub and battery to prevent a fire. The fuse need to be in with the wire under the hood. Why? Because if you put the fuse right in front of the sub, and there is a surge, the insulation will melt off, and possibly start the car of fire b/c of carpet or w/e else. Thats why its important for the fuse to be under the hood.

You need to tap into one speaker for the 3rd and 4th terminal, this is where your sub will recieve the information to produce deep notes and such. Make sure after you splice into the speaker wires you cover them well w/ electrical tape. Let us know how it sounds after the install! Good luck!

Im assuming yes, unless the wire is needed for something else. You are correct, you are running a power wire to power the subs internal amplifier.

But please, double check all the instructions as I would feel bad if it ruined you sub. You can always take it to Best Buy/Circuit City and they'll install it.

I installed it myself...and lemme tell you. It sounds awesome. It grumbles and booms nicely for an 8" woof.

I dotn really now abut elctrical but if u dont have any idea what u are doing u can always take it to circuit city or any speaker or elctrical car shop im sure it not expensive

I already installed it...I mean, I guess I can take it to them and see if I did it right...but no problem so far...and I cranked up the woofer yesterday...never heard such severe trunk rattling in my life. Time to Dynamat the trunk.

Hmm...now I'm thinking of putting another one in...thank god I have 3 ways for my 6x9s.
