I need help figuring out what i should do....i have a kenwood DDX 6019 and a rear view camera connected to the A/V in part of it....there is a separate cable for i can plug the rear view camera into but it does not work.....i now want to connect a A/V cable so i can watch movies from my Iphone on it but that would mean that i lose my rear view camera.....My question is can I use a regular A/V splitter or a a/v switch

please explain that. what does not work. what is it currently plugged into. also you should be able to watch Ipod videos off of the Ipod cable through the usb drive in the front.

where I am going with the it does not work part is that there is probably a wiring issue causing it not to work. in order to use the back up camera properly you need to be wired into the reverse switch. in order for the regular video to work you need to be wired into the parking ground so that the screen will only come on when the car is in park. (there are ways to bypass this but I am not going into that.)

Agreed with neo on the parking switch and reverse switch. You would need an AV switch not a splitter. A splitter will give issues since two outputs would be tied together.

The rear view camera is in the same wire that i need the iphone wire connected to.....I have it set up so when I put it on reverse it turns on but there is no other cable that i can change it to then it won't work

so your stereo is only compatible for a back up camera and not video input is what you are saying.

pages 64-66 discuss the rear view camera input and navigation input. it appears you may be able to set it to navigation "AV-IN" but it will always be displayed as NAVI. it appears this system is separate from the rear view camera input.

There are two questions there. one is for software and the latter for hardware.

There are several companies who make AV distribution for car audio - what specific equipment do you have that you need to connect?
