best way to ground amp
 

I have a 5th gen accord with a kicker 750.1 and 2 cvr 12's where should i ground my amp? It's cutting out now with very little bass boost and halfway on gain.

Sounds like your gain is two high and your amp is overheating causing it to go into protection mode. If it's not shutting off complete for a few seconds at least then you have a bad ground and your amp is being choked. Find a nice bolt that is not isolated from the body through paint or rubber isolators. If there is paint between your ground and the body panel be sure to sand it off. To be certain you have a good ground measure the resistance between your amp ground and a known good ground, it should measure 0.00 ohms and nothing more.

EDIT: If your HU have 2v preouts your gain should not be much passed a 1/4 of a turn. 4v or 6v preouts you shouldn't have to turn your gain up at all, maybe slightly with the 4v.

I ran the ground wire from my amp to the slots in the bottom of my trunk deck. Just make sure you sand all the paint away.

Don't think that is a good choice Tyler. That piece could be isolated on rubber, so only the bolts are giving you continuity. Or if the piece is painted before being installed there will be paint in between that and the rest of the body. Down in the spare wheel well or under the trunk liner are plenty of good ground spots.

Good suggestion! It is support that is not separate from the trunk lid so there should be quite a bit of metal. However, I will be checking it out to make sure!

mine is grounded on trunk latch assembly? maybe i need to sand it tho

I wouldn't ground it there either, that latch may be isolated with plastic or rubber to protect it from vibration. It definitely is mounted paint on paint, even if you scrape the paint off at the terminal won't make a difference. Just find a bolt in the spare wheel well, or under the liner. Will be well worth the effort.
