CD Player Condensation
I've got a 2003 Accord LX. Just about everytime I run the A/C and listen to a CD in the single disc player, condensation builds up on the CD and the CD stops playing. Anyone else run in to this problem? And if so, any idea on how to correct it?

my car stays really cool in that area because of the way that the events hook up. are you running a stock stereo or an aftermarket?
|
I'm running a stock stereo.

i can certainly see that happening. can't correct it without reducing the interior car temp slowly, or using good sun visors and parking in the shade to reduce interior car temp.
make sure you don't have a vent leak that is causing cold air to blow directly down on the head unit inside the dash. |
Going to put some foam insulation around the two vents that sit above the head unit. This should keep any cold air from leaking in a causing condensation. I hope, anyway.

Is the AC draining properly?
|
In my case yes, it is definitely condensation and not a drainage issue.

Here is a good working resolution that won't cost you a bundle:

thanks for following up.
i think applying closed cell foam sheets to the bottom of the ducts is a viable solution. treating the source (air leak) is preferable. |
