Connecting to Battery
What do you guys use to connect to the battery? In my suburban, there was a terminal with a bolt and nut, I used that to connect my amp, and extra fuse box to. I have seen in pics here, you remove the old terminal that goes to the battery, and replace it with a new one. This new one allow you to connect the car battery cable, and a new amp cable. I looked at a Auto Zone right by me, they didn't have it, but I also didn't ask anyone. I don't even have the car yet, I am still looking for one, but I do know I am getting a 06 Accord, so I want to be prepared.

RE: Connecting to Battery
the best thing to do is contact a local car audio store and they usually have some nice ones there, I had some Rockford fosgate ones that had connectors for the amp wire and spare power connector for whatever else you might want.... Basically either go look at walmart or contact a local car audio place

RE: Connecting to Battery
I think I understand your question... this is what's typically done, and is what I did on my Jeep for amp power wire. and the frame is negative, so clean down to the bare metal and connect your negative wire to the amp.

I'll provide a link, it was written up on my local forum, but you can do it on your cars too. Might not be a bad idea since my moms honda never really had that great of an altinator.. Yeah, Wal-Mart has oneby Scosche and its 6 or 8 bucks. Its heavy and seems like it would be good quality.

RE: Connecting to Battery
Thanks guys, TheBackRoads I know I could always rig it like that. I have a 3000watt amp, HIDs, and plenty of accessories to hook up. So I like to have a nice big contact point, and that seems to be small for me. I am going to go with a whole new terminal that will let me connect several wires to battery. Only reason I ask, is on my suburban there is a separate terminal with a half inch bolt to hook up accessories I guess.
EDIT: BTW Thanks for the Big 3 link, but I will prolly be upgrading the battery, and installing a CAP for the amp. |
RE: Connecting to Battery
upgrading the big three is still a good idea even with the battery upgrade, because you would be sending the same amount of power to the new battery as the old one.
