Does it matter if your sub box is seal all around?

i have a 15 inch JL audio and i just bought a box for it. This box was seal all around like and square. i was wondering does it matter if the box is seal all around or it have to have a little opening some where to sound better?

i think i will just go with the solid box. i had that on my previous 'system' and it was good enough for me...now i need to get off my ass and find one for a decent price.

I prefer sealed over ported.

Sealed boxes offer a better and flatter response curve. Theyre also more forgiving of design or construction flaws.

True a ported enclosure can get louder, but once you get below its tuned frequency, it drops off pretty fast.
