Factory Alarm Help!
 

I have a 2000 Honda Accord, SE. I have owned the car for about two months, and didn't even know the car had an alarm. On the drivers door, by the lock there is the little red LED light, but has never worked. So I assumed the alarm did not work, or had been disabled. Today, my fiance drove it to work, and shortly after she locked the car and went inside, the car started honking and flashing all the lights. It shut off shortly after starting, and then started up again in a 5 or 10 minutes, all by itself. It turned off by unlocking the door. No one touched the car or anything, and the car does not have keyless entry. What would cause this? Is it just an alarm problem, or could this be tied into something else? Where is the alarm located, and could I just pull a fuse for it and not worry about it? Any advise would be appreciated! Thanks!
