Faulty factory radios.......

Ok so I had one of those bad radio/cd players that short out in the 2003-2006(?) accords. I installed an aftermarket cd player and I thought that's all I'd have to do. I kept power to the radio unit because it has the Heating and Air controls. However, when it starts getting cold out the radio starts working again, even if the car is off, and it drains my battery at night.

So... my question is: Is there a way to remove power to the radio part while still having the heat/ac controls (preferably with the lights working on the controls)?

yep, buy a new kit that includes the radio controls.

Is there anyway to just kill the power to the old radio? Maybe clip a wire in the harness? I already installed another cd player and would hate to have to rip everything out and reinstall another setup..

understood.

technically, yes. you certainly can. you'll have to open it up and figure out which wires to cut!
