Few questions about new sound system

Hey guys, I have an 02 accord with a 6-disc changer. Are these difficult to swap out for an aftermarket deck?

I've been looking at getting two 12" type r's off ebay for about 250 dollars. Is there a preference from 10-12"?

Also, Could you guys reccomend a good amp? I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to this stuff.. Thanks in advance!!

6th gen is the easiest deck to swap. You don't even need an install kit! Just take the stock one out and use the 4 side bolts to secure the aftermarket one. You can even keep the cubby slot with the door! In my ex-gf's car, I installed a JVC-HDR1 HU with the JVC iPod kit. I ground a hole in the top corner of the cubby for the plug and mounted the box with extreme velcro behind the radio. It was a very neat install, and the cubby can fit the nano sideways. With controls and readouts on the HU, you never have to touch the iPod. This install took about a half hour with the wire harness done the night before.

EDIT: From Mac's bag-o-tricks --- Your soundstage will be better if you reverse the wiring to one of the fromt channels. I had component speakers, so I had the opportunity to test if this is best to switch the woofer only, the tweeter only or the whole channel. The whole channel should be reverse wired, so you can do this easily when connecting the wire harness to the adapter.

Dont have any experience with the 6th gen but check with your local shop. Im sure theyll be able to point you in the right direction.

As for subs, I prefer 12's myself. Enough cone area to move some serious air but still nice and controlled.

As for amps, Alpine, MTX, Rockford Fosgate and Kicker are some of the best and theyre mass marketed so theyre very easy to find.
