Firewall help
[sm=helpout.gif]Hey all... I have a new 07 Accord EXL-V6. I want to hook up an amp and sub box. I can't find a place in the firewall to run the 8g wire through. On older cars that I have had they had plastic hole covers along the firewall, and if they were popped out, you could run a wire through them. I don't want to drill a hole! Can anyone help me??? Thanks!!![:@]

RE: Firewall help
There is a small black rubber grommet somewhere in the firewall in the 7th gens that is somewhat easy to run the wire through. I can't remember exactly where it is, but if I figure it out, I'll make another more specific post. I have a 4 banger, and can only assume the same grommet exists in the V6.

RE: Firewall help
Thanks for the info! I found a rather large clear one(quarter size)on the drivers side. You have to really look for it, its above where the break pad is. I tried to pull it out, but I couldn't get it to budge. So, I'm not sure if its covering something important or if its empty. I just didn't want to drill into the firewall. I'll keep looking.....Jennifer[sm=thanx.gif]

RE: Firewall help
On mine i went through the grommet the steering shaft goes through....i just poked a hole big enough for my wire and taped the wire to a long scewdriver and pushed it through...

RE: Firewall help
i think theres one next to the steering column that all the dash wires go through (obviously on the drivers side).
try going under the steering column inside the car and looking for one, theres gota one somewhere that all the ignition wires go through. follow some. |
